Practise Your First Letters

Start with simple letters: i, n, m and u are a great entry point because they share many basic strokes. Pencil, ballpoint or fountain pen – all work fine.

4

Decipher Letters and Postcards

You have old letters, postcards or labeled photographs at home in a drawer or the attic? Try to decipher individual words using the alphabet sheet – you'll experience your first small victories sooner than you think.

Tip: For an authentic writing feel, a fountain pen with a slightly flexible fine nib (F or EF) is well worth it. Kurrent was traditionally written with a Spitzfeder fountain pen. For structured, interactive learning, the Spitzfeder app offers a comprehensive learning companion.
